Dream It Again made his long awaited debut at Churchill Downs on Friday afternoon. While we knew going in that he wasn’t really suited for a 6-furlong sprint, we felt like this was a good place to get startedwith an eye on a longer race next out. He was sitting in good closing position going into the turn, however, he just didn’t fire when asked by jockey Marcelino Pedroza. While he has shown some impressive speed in his morning woks, fractions for the race were just a bit too stiff at21.62, 45.17 and 56.75 (final time of 1:09.26). We feel like he should show much better if he can be on the slower pace of a route race.
