Irish Aces Wins Allowance at Keeneland

Irish Aces was the wire-to-wire winner of the fourth race, a NW3X/NW4 Allowance, at Keeneland on Tuesday afternoon. He broke sharply and jumped out to the quick lead along the rail. He went into the first turn with two horses to his outside. He covered the first quarter in 22.91 and held a lead of about a length. He maintained that margin through the backstretch and into the far turn, going a half in 47.80. He got a breather in the third quarter as six furlongs went in 1:12.56. He turned for home with a lead of a length and a half. He was able to hold off Out of Deductions and Smokey Mandate at the wire to win by half a length. The final time for 8.5 furlongs was 1:43.01 over the good turf course. Irish Aces improves his record to 4-3-3 with earnings of $607,177 from fifteen career starts.
