Nineteenth Street was the 22/1 long shot winner of the 9th race at Fair Grounds on Sunday evening. She broke well and settled into 3rd position as Flatter Up bolted from the rail to set extremely fast fractions of 21.50, 44.55 and 57.73. Nineteenth Street found herself about 7 lengths back at the half mile marker and still 5 lengths back at the top of the stretch. She made a furious move down the lane and grabbed the lead from the fading Flatter Up at the 16th pole. She continued to dig in and easily held off post time favorite, Stonetacular, to win by 1.5 lengths.
